Part III and DDJC conducted an in-depth session on legal strategies in cases of caste atrocities under the SC/ST Act. The discussion covered challenges at pre-trial stages, including issues with FIR filing, delayed investigations, and compensation. The teams also explored legal interventions for cases involving manual scavengers lacking their legal entitlements.
Part III Team organised a discussion on the Caste Survey data brought out by the Bihar Government to understand how the data confirms and challenges prevailing notions about access to resources across castes. The discussion saw participation from academicians, journalists and civil society members.

Part III held a cross-learning session with DDJC on research regarding the implementation of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The teams discussed challenges faced when filing RTI applications, provided legal training on PoA provisions, and offered legal advice to survivors of caste atrocities in Banda, Allahabad, and Orai.
